报告摘要:

o   To discuss, fractional-order derivatives based single image underwater image and video enhancement models and some AI-techniques.

•      De-hazing or De-fogging outdoor images in the presence of haze, fog or smog (which fades the colors and diminishes the contrast of the observed objects) has been a challenging task in image processing with several important applications.

•      In this presentation, a fuzzy membership function and fractional-order total variation based model is introduced that will be able to de-haze a given hazy or foggy image effectively.

•      The proposed method incorporates the atmospheric veil estimation based on a pixel-based operation using a fuzzy membership function.

•      Refine the transmission using fractional-order L1-norm–based regularization method.

•      To avoid color distortion of the sky region noted in recent methods, we employ a trapezoid-type fuzzy membership function.

•      The transmission map is then changed over to the high-quality depth map, with which the new fractional-order variational model can be framed to look for the haze free image for both grey and color outdoor images.

•      An explicit gradient descent scheme is employed to find efficiently the minimizer of the proposed energy functional for transmission.

•      Experimental tests on real world scenes show that the proposed method can de-haze or defog images effectively and efficiently.
